Getting ready at Moore and Moore

A couple of months ago, my friend Kath Young told me she was planning this elegant Fremantle elopement inspired-styled shoot. She asked me if I wanted to tag along to which I obvously answered ‘yes’. I had just done a styled shoot and had so much fun during it, I was thrilled to reiterate the experience alongside my friend. Kath did an amazing job planning the whole thing, it was a day to remember.

I met up with Kath and the rest of the creatives upstairs at Moore and Moore cafe, where our gorgeous pretend bride Leonie was getting her hair and makeup done by the talented Imen Chow, while the ‘groom’ was putting on his suit ready to get photographed for some get-ready shots. Before starting taking photos of the couple, I joined Kath to photograph the two beautiful bouquets put together by flower wizard Magda from Terra and Luna Creative.

Strolling the streets of Freo

Once our couple was all glammed up, we took some snaps inside the cafe before heading outside for a stroll around the streets of Fremantle. We weren’t left without choices with all the pretty facades (if you ever take photos with me, you will probably hear me saying “That wall is SO cool” a good handful of times), stylish doorways, charming little back streets, and not-so-secret iconic terrace houses around the area.

Last light at the beach

Our plan was to make it to the beach before sunset so we catch the last rays of sunshine and golden light. Although we didn’t make it on time, we were welcomed by the most beautiful sky. Blue hour is one of my favorite times to shoot at, and the sky does not disappoint in Perth. The colors are so deep and soothing, it really felt like Mother Nature is putting on a show. We made the most of those colors and of the last few minutes of light before it became too dark to shoot.
